To promote deeper engagement of foreign talents in Haikou with the Mid-Autumn Festival culture and allow them to experience the charm of this traditional Chinese holiday, we jointly planned a themed cultural immersion event. Professor Fu Jihu was recommended as the core instructor, combining professional explanations with immersive experiences to create a high-quality cultural exchange setting for foreign talents. To ensure genuine cultural immersion, the event preparation was guided by the principle of "auditory, educational, hands-on, and emotional engagement." The team coordinated with professional mooncake-making masters in advance, preparing dough, fillings, and molds suitable for foreign participants to ensure a safe and accessible hands-on experience. Simultaneously, they assisted Professor Fu Jihu in refining bilingual teaching materials, selecting classic Mid-Autumn poems such as "Prelude to Water Melody · How Long Will the Full Moon Appear?" accompanied by annotations and contextual illustrations to make the cultural content both expert-level and easy to understand. The venue was set at Maple Leaf International School, where staff pre-checked oven equipment and arranged festive decorations, meticulously crafting a warm holiday atmosphere to deliver a heartfelt cultural experience for foreign talents.
On the day of the event, a warm atmosphere spread from the moment the guests arrived. After the staff guided everyone to their seats in an orderly manner, the Chinese-English bilingual host slowly kicked off the event. They not only introduced the unique value of Mid-Autumn Festival culture and the original intention behind the event's design, but also invited leaders to take the stage to deliver festival greetings—allowing foreign talents to feel the attention and care that Haikou extends to international talents. The subsequent mooncake-making experience became the core session for everyone to enjoy the "hands-on fun" of the Mid-Autumn Festival. A professional instructor used bilingual explanations to detail the characteristics of the dough and the differences between fillings, and demonstrated the techniques of rolling out the dough, wrapping the filling, and pressing the mooncake into shape with their own hands. When issues such as "uneven dough thickness" or "filling leaking out" arose, the instructor moved around to provide guidance. They also encouraged everyone to unleash their creativity by decorating the mooncakes with food coloring. The group collaboration model made the on-site atmosphere even more lively. Amid mutual help and support, the foreign talents personally created their own Mid-Autumn mooncakes.

During the interval while the mooncakes were being baked in the oven, the Mid-Autumn Festival poem sharing session delivered by Professor Fu Jihu added a strong cultural charm to the event. With the help of courseware, the professor analyzed the background and emotional connotations of the poems in both Chinese and English. From the philosophical thought in "When will the bright moon appear?" to the blessing in "May we all be blessed with longevity.", he guided everyone to feel the rhythmic beauty of the poems sentence by sentence. After the explanation, a unique poem writing competition kicked off immediately, and the resonance of culture quietly emerged at this moment.

During the Mid-Autumn Festival poem sharing session delivered by Professor Fu Jihu, the thoughtful details at the event venue (Maple Leaf International School) added extra warmth. In front of each guest's seat, there was an exquisite tea break fruit plate, with sweet grapes and plump jujubes arranged in a neat yet casual way, and warm tea was thoughtfully prepared beside the plate. As the professor analyzed the artistic conception of the poems sentence by sentence, the guests occasionally picked up the refreshments to taste. The warm tea relieved the tiredness from concentrating on listening, while the sweet and sour fruits added a touch of relaxation and comfort to the cultural learning process. Occasionally, when a guest paused to focus on taking notes about the poem annotations, the staff would gently step forward to refill their tea. This meticulous service allowed foreign talents to not only feel the charm of Chinese culture but also experience the warm care like that of "home", making the atmosphere of the poem sharing session even more relaxed and harmonious.

As the event drew to a close, the aroma of freshly baked mooncakes filled the entire venue. After letting the mooncakes cool down slightly, the staff distributed them to each guest for tasting. While savoring the mooncakes they had made with their own hands, the guests shared their feelings about the event—some praised the mooncakes for being "crispy on the outside and sweet in the filling," while others expressed emotion, saying, "Through the poems, I better understand the meaning of reunion behind the Mid-Autumn Festival."Finally, the staff packed the remaining mooncakes at a standard of 4 pieces per person, allowing everyone to take this Mid-Autumn sweetness home to share. The moment when all guests held their mooncakes and calligraphy works for a group photo became the warmest freeze-frame of the event. This Mid-Autumn cultural experience not only enabled foreign talents to gain a deep understanding of Mid-Autumn Festival culture but also built a bridge for cultural exchange between China and foreign countries, injecting warm cultural strength into Haikou's efforts to build an international talent-friendly city.
