国际人才走进东营小学 趣味英语课堂再启

International talents visit Dongying Primary School; engaging English classes resume

10月16日，“海口Yeah”国际人才志愿服务团再次走进东营小学，组织开展了新一期的公益英语支教活动。本次活动共有四位国际人才志愿者参与，他们结合不同年级学生的年龄特点和学习基础，分为两组，分别为五、六年级和三、四年级学生设计并开展了特色英语课堂，通过趣味互动、课堂问答和歌曲游戏，为孩子们带来轻松活泼的英语学习体验。

On October 16, the "Haikou Yeah" International Talent Volunteer Service Team visited Dongying Primary School once again to organize a new session of a public welfare English teaching activity. Four international talent volunteers participated in this event; based on the age characteristics and learning foundations of students in different grade levels, they were divided into two groups—those for fifth and sixth graders, and those for third and fourth graders—to design and conduct specialized English classes. Through engaging interactions, classroom Q&A sessions, and song-based games, they provided the children with a relaxed and lively English learning experience.

本次活动中，面向五、六年级学生的英语课堂以“Compassion（关爱）”为主题，由两位外籍教师共同授课。课堂以欢快的英文儿歌《If You Are Happy》热身开场，随后通过讲述《海南善心男孩海涛》的感人故事，引导学生学习“发烧、口渴、体贴、感恩”等相关英语词汇与表达。老师们结合故事图片、互动问答和情景讨论，启发孩子们思考如何在日常生活中践行关爱他人的美德。课堂还学唱了经典歌曲《You Are My Sunshine》，在优美的旋律中让孩子们感受英语学习的温暖与乐趣。

In this activity, an English class for fifth-and sixth-grade students was themed around "Compassion," taught jointly by two foreign teachers. The lesson began with a lively English nursery rhyme, "If You Are Happy," and then proceeded by sharing the touching story of "Hai Tao, the Kind-hearted Boy from Hainan," guiding students to learn relevant English vocabulary and expressions—such as "fever," "thirst," "consideration," and "gratitude." By incorporating story illustrations, interactive Q&A sessions, and situational discussions, the teachers inspired the children to reflect on how to embody the virtue of caring for others in their daily lives. The class also featured a performance of the classic song "You Are My Sunshine," allowing the children to experience the warmth and joy of learning English through its beautiful melody.

面向三、四年级低年级学生的英语课堂则以“The Four Seasons（四季）”为主题，由梅林和Faith两位外籍教师共同授课。老师们根据低年级学生的学习特点，通过精美的四季图片、趣味单词卡片和互动游戏，带领孩子们认识春、夏、秋、冬的英文表达，以及花朵、树叶、太阳、雪人、苹果、帽子等相关词汇。课堂还穿插了“猜季节”“单词连线”等小游戏，让孩子们在轻松愉快的氛围中大胆开口、练习表达，激发对英语学习的兴趣。

In English classes for lower-grade students in grades 3 and 4, the theme was "The Four Seasons," taught jointly by two foreign teachers, Mei Lin and Faith. Tailoring their approach to the learning characteristics of younger students, the teachers utilized beautiful seasonal images, engaging vocabulary cards, and interactive games to introduce children to English expressions for spring, summer, autumn, and winter, as well as related vocabulary such as flowers, leaves, the sun, snowmen, apples, and hats. The lessons also incorporated short games like "Guess the Season" and "Word Matching," allowing children to speak confidently and practice their expressions in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, thereby fostering their interest in learning English.

课堂上，四位国际人才根据不同年龄段学生的特点，采用灵活多样的教学方式，将英语知识与互动游戏、课堂问答、歌曲学唱等环节相结合。孩子们积极举手、踊跃参与，在与国际志愿者的交流互动中练习英语表达，课堂氛围轻松活跃，欢声笑语不断。

此次活动是“海口Yeah”国际人才志愿服务团持续推动国际人才志愿服务走进基层校园的一次生动实践。四位国际人才充分发挥语言优势，通过不同年级、不同主题的英语课堂，为孩子们提供更加丰富的学习体验，也为中外文化交流搭建了小小的桥梁。

下一步，志愿服务团将继续开展常态化校园公益英语授课活动，结合不同年龄段学生的学习需求，持续提供多元、有趣的英语课程，以国际志愿力量助力基层校园英语教育发展，推动更多孩子通过语言学习了解世界、交流世界。

In the classroom, four international volunteers tailored their teaching approaches to the characteristics of students across different age groups, integrating English language knowledge with interactive games, classroom Q&A sessions, and song-learning activities. The children actively raised their hands and participated enthusiastically, practicing their English expression through interactions with the international volunteers. The classroom atmosphere was relaxed and lively, filled with laughter and joy. This event represents a vivid demonstration of how the "Haikou Yeah" International Volunteer Service Team continues to bring international volunteer services to grassroots schools. By leveraging their linguistic expertise, the four volunteers conducted English lessons featuring diverse grade levels and thematic focuses, providing the children with richer learning experiences while building small bridges for cultural exchange between China and other countries. Moving forward, the volunteer service team will continue to organize regular campus public welfare English teaching activities, designing diverse and engaging English courses that align with the learning needs of students at various age stages. Through the collective efforts of international volunteers, the team aims to bolster English education in grassroots schools, enabling more children to understand and connect with the world through language learning.
