粽叶飘香，情满琼州。5月23日，外国专家书屋洋溢着浓厚的节日氛围，一场以“浓情端 午，传承千年”为主题的读书分享活动在此温馨启幕，吸 引了来自亚非欧美等10多个国家的30多名外籍人才热情 参与，共同探寻中国传统节日——端午节的独特魅力。
活动现场特别邀请到新加坡国立大学教授符积虎博 士担任主讲人。作为华裔学者，符博士精通英文与中 文，不仅在图书管理领域深耕多年，更在中国传统文化 方面造诣深厚。此前，他凭借对中华文化的热爱，出版 了多本关于中国古诗词的英文译本，并受聘为外国专家 书屋的图书管理顾问。他的独特身份与深厚学养，使他 成为主持此次分享会的不二人选。
The fragrance of zong leaves fills the air, and emotions overflow in Qiongzhou. On May 23, the Foreign Experts Library was immersed in a festive atmosphere as a reading sharing event themed "Savoring Affection at Noon: Preserving a Millennium-Old Tradition" warmly commenced. The event attracted over 30 foreign talents from more than 10 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and America, who jointly explored the unique charm of China's traditional festival—the Dragon Boat Festival.
The event specially invited Dr. Fu Jihu, a professor from the National University of Singapore, to serve as the keynote speaker. As a Chinese scholar, Dr. Fu is proficient in both English and Chinese, with extensive experience not only in library management but also profound expertise in China's traditional culture. Previously, driven by his passion for Chinese culture, he published several English translations of classical Chinese poetry and was appointed as a library management consultant for the Foreign Expert Bookstore. His unique background and profound academic accomplishments make him the ideal choice to host this sharing session.
活动伊始，符博士以外籍华人的独特视角，引领各 位外籍人才开启了一场跨越时空的文化之旅。他从文秀 的诗作《端午》入手，深入浅出地剖析了端午节的起 源，讲述了屈原忠肝义胆却遭遇奸佞诬陷、最终悲愤投 江的跌宕人生，让各位外籍人才沉浸于端午节深厚的文 化底蕴之中，感受着古人的家国情怀。

At the outset of the event, Dr. Fu, drawing on his unique perspective as a Chinese expatriate, guided the foreign talents on a cultural journey that transcended time and space. Starting with Wen Xiu's poem "Dragon Boat Festival," he provided an accessible analysis of the festival's origins and recounted Qu Yuan's tumultuous life—his unwavering loyalty, his subsequent slander by treacherous officials, and his ultimate tragic death by drowning in the river. This allowed the foreign participants to immerse themselves in the profound cultural heritage of the Dragon Boat Festival and appreciate the ancient people's deep sense of patriotism and devotion to their homeland.
During the session on sharing Dragon Boat Festival customs, the atmosphere at the venue gradually intensified. Dr. Fu provided a detailed introduction to the varieties, flavors, and evolutionary techniques of zongzi preparation.
历程，从三角粽、四角粽等形状各异的粽子，到甜口豆 沙粽、红枣粽与咸口肉粽、蛋黄粽的口味差异，外籍人 才听得如痴如醉。大家还应景吃起了粽子，感觉别有一 番滋味。符博士还深入讲解了赛龙舟的历史渊源与文化 意义，借助图片与视频的展示，大家仿佛置身于龙舟竞 渡的热烈现场，深刻感受到了龙舟竞渡所蕴含的团结协 作、奋勇争先的精神。
值得一提的是，活动中还专门设置了与端午节相关 的书籍展示与介绍环节。符博士精心挑选了一系列涵盖 端午文化、屈原诗词以及中国传统节日研究等方面的书 籍，这些书籍犹如一把把钥匙，为外籍人才开启了深入 了解端午节文化内涵与历史传承的大门。
The journey—from zongzi of various shapes like triangular and square varieties to the distinct flavors of sweet bean paste zongzi, red date zongzi, savory meat-filled zongzi, and egg yolk zongzi—captivated the foreigners completely. Everyone also enjoyed zongzi in the festive spirit, finding it particularly delightful. Dr. Fu further elaborated on the historical origins and cultural significance of dragon boat racing, using images and videos that transported the audience to the vibrant scene of the races, allowing them to deeply appreciate the spirit of unity, cooperation, and striving for excellence embodied in dragon boat racing.
It is worth mentioning that the event also featured a dedicated section for displaying and introducing books related to the Dragon Boat Festival. Dr. Fu meticulously selected a series of publications covering Dragon Boat culture, Qu Yuan's poetry, and research on China's traditional festivals. These books serve as keys, enabling foreign talents to gain an in-depth understanding of the cultural significance and historical heritage of the Dragon Boat Festival.
