To advance the standardization and professionalization of international government affairs exchanges, enhance public officials 'foreign communication skills, global service competencies, and cross-cultural proficiency, and better meet key requirements for Hainan Free Trade Port's opening-up initiatives, diplomatic coordination, international
talent services, and foreign-related business environment development, the "Introducing Talent to Dongfang: International Talent Empowerment for Government Service Efficiency" English Speaking Training was successfully held on May 29. Organized by the Talent Development Bureau of Dongfang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the event featured live instruction from foreign education professionals and certified English teachers, with over 70 participants
including frontline staff from Dongfang Municipal Government Service Center and township service centers. Following principles of practicality, real-world applicability, and effectiveness, the training focused on common government service scenarios—including daily reception, administrative consultations, guidance assistance, and polite
language usage—employing interactive exercises, scenario-based discussions, and simulation drills to foster immersive language practice and confidence in foreign communication. Participants unanimously praised the training's relevance and practical value, noting it effectively addressed their English proficiency gaps and laid a solid foundation for serving international talents, enhancing foreign-related interactions, and improving government service quality. This English speaking training forms a key component of Dongfang's international talent exchange program and represents a concrete step toward optimizing talent support systems and elevating governmental internationalization standards. Next, Dongfang City will continue to conduct multiple rounds of government English training programs, continuously improving the training system and enriching the curriculum content. The city aims to cultivate a high-caliber team of government professionals who are proficient in English, skilled in communication, and capable of delivering quality services. Through superior services and an open approach, it seeks to attract international talent to Dongfang, thereby providing robust support for the city's high-quality development and the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
