新加坡专家符积虎随妻子到海南担任外国专家书屋顾问及志愿者通过英语教学和社区服务助力海南自贸港人才培养与国际交流👇
符积虎来自新加坡。9年前，他从雀巢研发中心退休后，便开始在新加坡理工学院和新加坡国立大学任教。2023年，他的妻子莫娜被邀请到海南中学教英语，符积虎决定陪妻子来到海口。
Sailing toward the Free Trade Port, we gather talents for the new era. To thoroughly implement the spirit of Hainan Province's "First Meeting of the New Year" Talent Conference and actively respond to the "Hainan Free Trade Port Talent Attraction and Development Plan" along with its three-year action plan, the WeChat official account "Free Trade Port Talents" has launched a special column titled "Talents Making Contributions to the Free Trade Port."
This column will comprehensively showcase the talents of the free trade port, presenting authentic, vivid, and heartfelt stories that illustrate how these professionals have grown alongside the port.
Through this column, we aim to create a platform for talent exchange, learning, and growth, enabling more individuals to find resonance and inspiration while pooling the collective strength of talents from across the region. At the same time, we hope more readers will pay attention to, understand, and support the Free Trade Port, jointly witnessing the prosperity and development of this vibrant hub.

Fu Jihu, a Singaporean expert, traveled to Hainan with his wife to serve as an advisor and volunteer for the Foreign Experts Library, contributing to talent development and international exchanges in the Hainan Free Trade Port through English teaching and community services. 👇 Fu Jihu hails from Singapore. Nine years ago, after retiring from the Nestlé R&D Center, he began teaching at the Singapore Polytechnic and the National University of Singapore. In 2023, when his wife Mona was invited to teach English at a Hainan high school, Fu decided to accompany her to Haikou.
符积虎的父母亲于上世纪五十年代从中国海南文昌移民到新加坡。这是他第三次来到中国。他觉得非常荣幸有这个机会来到海南，为家乡做一点贡献。在海口，符积虎积极参与志愿者工作。他是龙华人才之家的志愿者之一，这里既有中国的“候鸟”，也有外国的专家。符积虎的工作包括为学生们开设英语欣赏课、参加社区文艺表演。台风“摩羯”过境后，他还与其他国际人才一起清理城市道路。Fu Jihu's parents immigrated from Wenchang, Hainan, China to Singapore in the 1950s. This was his third visit to China. He felt deeply honored to have this opportunity to come to Hainan and contribute to his hometown. In Haikou, Fu Jihu actively engaged in volunteer work. He was one of the volunteers at the Longhua Talent Home, which hosted both Chinese "migratory birds" and foreign experts. His duties included teaching English appreciation courses to students and participating in community cultural performances. After Typhoon Morakot passed, he also helped clean urban roads alongside other international volunteers.
目前，符积虎正在写一本关于社区生活法律的书。他希望通过鼓励年轻人用英语交流，帮助国际理解与合作，为海南自由贸易港建设培育关键性的人才“软件”。Currently, Fu Jihu is writing a book on community life legislation. He aims to foster international understanding and cooperation by encouraging young people to communicate in English, thereby cultivating the essential human capital required for the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
符积虎和妻子住在“高兴里”已有一年多，这也是他们第一次在海南长住。他们说，海南气候好，风景也好，当地人友善，很多小学生都很聪明。未来，他们希望能继续留在海南，为海南自贸港建设作出更多贡献。
Fu Jihu and his wife have lived in "Gaoxingli" for over a year, marking their first long-term residence in Hainan. They remarked that Hainan boasts excellent climate, stunning scenery, friendly locals, and many elementary school students who are exceptionally intelligent. In the future, they hope to remain in Hainan and make further contributions to the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
